Doctor Who and Jude the Obscure

I saw Jude today.
Christopher Eccleston played Jude Fawley and David Tennant had a bit part as “drunk undergraduate”.
As an aside, when you are happy, pleased with your station in life and generally content, there’s nothing like a little Thomas Hardy to set you straight.

I just read Jude the Obscure. I haven’t seen the film.

And yes, Hardy can be a real downer. Little Father Time’s actions were pretty depressing.

I loved Hardy, prose and poetry, when I was a child. Re-reading him as adult, I am appalled that my parents allowed me to read him, and did not get me professional help immediately when I actually enjoyed him.

Dickens at least had a few happy endings.

Jude is alive at the end of the film, though coughing.

Why is the Google ad at the bottom of this thread for a psoriasis treatment?

*Sufferers! Don’t let this happen to you:

"done because we were too itchy"*

(Oh shit - now it’s changed to circumcison reversal. I’m not touching that one.)

And James Nesbitt! updates must-see-list
