Our chocolate Lab, Bessie, occasionally produced silent stinkers. Once she farted audibly, and turned to look at her rear end in amazement. ---

Celtdog is gaseous legend\*, both audible and inaudible. Celtling’s infamous quote “It’s burning my eyes!” but then that’s what she gets for sneaking him her brussels sprouts right before a long car trip. He has startled himself, but I’ve never seen him wake himself. He woke Celtling once, who insisted it must have been me. You are sitting with a group of people with a dog present. Suddenly there is an awful smell. Because the dog cannot defend himself, he normally gets the blame. Sometimes I think there wasn’t a fair trial. ---

On Youtube, look for “dog scared by farts” and you’ll see lots of dags audibly farting, and scaring themself by doing it. ---

mom used to serve Brussel sprouts a lot and she had a friend who had a dog we loved and he had no problem eating the sprouts when he brought them over … One night they were joking about the dog “uncle randy” said "I don’t know why but twice a week old rufus gets the worst gas and has ti sleep outside … its usually after we cone over here " Mom says “oh really ?” me and my brother were trying to look innocent So next Monday sprouts were served … rufus runs in the door and we give him the usual handout and mom steps out and says " I thought so " … no desert for a week … until my brother teared up and said " but the doggy likes them… and he took them off the plate by him self right infront of her … so new rule was no doggy until after dinner for a while ---

Molly, my border collie - chow mix, frequently farts when laying on her side. Honestly, she is so chill she rarely ever reacts. Sometimes she lifts her head and looks at me with what I can only assume is pride. ---

Short snout dogs, like my boxer, take in a lot of air when the eat and drink - air has to come out somewhere. He is a most impressive belcher and farter, both audibly and odiferously. ---

Leet the Wonder Dog[sup]TM[/sup] sometimes adds to the conversation as well as the ambience, but he usually looks around at his hindquarters as if he is not quite sure of who bears responsibility. Oh yes… they certainly do. The funniest I’ve ever heard was my Gordon Setter Kharma. When she sat, she sat very straight, wither tail straight out behind her. This pressed her butt flat against the floor. she would fart, and it would SQUEEEEAAAAAAAK out, audibly. She would always snap her head around and stare at her butt with this perplexed expression, her ears drawn up on top of her head. ---

I crack up every time my dog audibly farts, but now that I’m reading some of these anecdotes, I’m jealous. It would be so much funnier if she jumped up and stared at her own butt in surprise afterwards! When she farts she just acts like nothing happened.
