I bet you know some oaf that plays the hulusi.
I have a feeling he bathes in churned owl dung.
Der Trihs, either you didn’t read my more recent posts or you just don’t really get what I’m saying. I thought I cleared everything up within a few recent posts.
Who the hell is this?
Someone’s mother should have considered abortion.
Sorry, I was honeycombed in the womb by a self aware disco-fry.
Ooh, I’ve got one!
Premise 1: Someone with $1,000,000 on their dining room table is rich.
Premise 2: They will still be rich if we remove 1 cent from their dining room table.
I have 87 cents on my dining room table right now. I’m rich!
This would make a great article for a school newspaper if your school is hip enough to allow an article on abortion.
Either way, if you have a Planned Parenthood near you and you are still curious, go find out for yourself. I know the PP I worked at would welcome you to come in and interview them for a paper or article. You can see them in action first hand and ask them whatever you want. Ask them the hard questions and they will not mind (they are more than used to it).
I think you’d be amazed at how comprehensive everything there is, how well they are run and how much they truly care for the women they serve.
Oh, and the counseling does not end after the abortion. They have a variety of help they can offer or point women to once the procedure is done if the woman wants it.
Given the raging debate over abortion PP knows they have to be impeccable and they are. I wish all health care was provided as professionally and with as much care and concern as they provide.
Am I the only one who understands the purpose of paradoxes? @Valgard’s response
Well, a line needs to be drawn somewhere and that will be partly arbitrary (social values and such) and partly science.
While I know some (you?) around here have argued that an abortion should be ok up to 1 minute before birth I find that a wholly insupportable notion.
So, we need to walk it back. 35 weeks? 34? Where?
Well, at 6 months we do have viability but that is only due to medical science as you note. Still, I have seen premature babies very nearly that young personally and while tiny for a baby it was all there as a baby and the methods to keep it alive were not super extreme (honestly the one I saw was merely under heat lamps like it was french fries and nothing more).
Seems to me 6 months is ample time for a woman to come to a decision. After that the baby gets rights to its existence.
In other words, Planned Parenthood is providing information to allow the woman to make an informed decision, just as my doctor provides me information to let me make an informed decision about a procedure. No scare tactics either way. Perfect.
Is there special counseling for minors to try to prevent the need for an abortion from arising again?
I certainly hope I didn’t give the impression that letting the woman make a choice involved not giving her information to assist in making the choice,
You bet.
PP does not want to see the same woman more than once to perform an abortion (or deal with an STD). They do their level best to educate her and strongly encourage the use of contraception. PP provides all sorts and will counsel her on how to insist the guy use a condom even if he is reluctant (stop STDs as well as pregnancy) and/or get her on some other form of birth control. PP is all about informing the woman and helping her to assess what makes sense for her. They are all about choice and are clear it is her choice. They just want to make it as informed a choice as they can. Education is paramount in their view and they work outside the clinics in local schools and other places when and where they can.
Don’t worry about the impression you gave. I goofed who I as quoting and realized too late. Figured it worked well enough anyway so left it but I took nothing you wrote amiss.
I’m not a young boy, I’m a 43 year old woman. I know a lot of women who have had abortions. I don’t know any of them who are not pro-choice. At 43 I’ve seen some pretty shitty things - life is pretty traumatizing.
Some people regret their abortions. Some people regret having their children (which I think is worse). Some people regret their marriages, or that one stupid time they got behind the wheel when they were too tired to drive and almost killed someone (or did). Or dumping that great guy they were dating for the loser who turned out to be a drug addict.
Using the DoI I’d have to say yes. Using “All men are created equal” would have to be at pre-birth even pre-implantation status, as all men are not equal as they become men from being boys, people are at different statuses, also this does not apply to birth as people are born into different statuses. The only time that this could be true AFAIK is at initial creation at the time described:
and the 10th Amendment to the US Constitution states:
Both of these state that people have the right to live and not be aborted. Much like slavery does abortion contradict these principles?

Would you then look at a few cells in a petri dish and say"Oh,what a cute little baby"? If you wanted some chickens and I sold you a fertile egg,a bushel of pollenated apple blossoms. a fetus from a cow, pig etc. Would you accept that as such? Biologicly there is no difference, and as far as human life, there is human life and a potential human in a man’s sperm, so each time he ejaulates lot and lots of human life is lost. It is only a religious belief that says life begans at conception, life began eons ago and is a passed on thing.
Some cases if a mother is over burdened with too many children or already has 4 starving then you would want her to have a 5th to starve? This does happen in Some countries. Are those children less valuable than here?
Not necessarily. A woman’s vagina is built to take the stress of giving birth to a seven pound baby. It handles forced entry pretty darn well. Also, many women choose not to fight rape (I didn’t) - because rapes can quickly escalate from “something done to you” to “something that leaves you black and blue” to “something that leaves you with permanent injuries” to “something you don’t survive.” Getting raped is bad. Getting beaten and raped is not necessary if you don’t think that there is risk of getting beaten or killed as part of your rape.
Uh my god thinks abortions are awesome. And he’s gonna beat everyone who doesn’t have one with a hot iron, salty shillelagh for all eternity. So, you really should knock a girl up and abort the baby, otherwise it’s the hell of the red-hot-salty-bludgeoning for you.
Please demonstrate that my god is any less real than yours. Oh, can’t? Okay well then lets leave our imaginings of what god thinks out of this.
What gives a person value? I’d say it’s intelligence and self awareness. A brain dead person has no value, other than as a memento for friends and family.
Aborting a fetus who doesn’t have brain activity is no worse than removing a feeding tube from a brain dead person.
Put them up for ADOPTION.
That would also be horribly immoral in my opinion. I will have to write a statement sooner or later stating even if I should be in a vegetative state not to pull the plug from me.
As for rapes and abortion why do you not execute the rapist who caused the conception but abort the baby who had no choice in this?
So force the woman to be a baby factory for nine months with all the attendant problems and issues that arise from it, for a baby she does not want, only so she can give it away?
What a majorly creepy society that would be!
The zygote is not alive. The rapist is.
Your opinion is silly. If you think keeping a corpse’s heart beating is a good use of a bed and ventilator perhaps you shouldn’t be making policy for the rest of us.
A fetus isn’t a person. It’s a wee little thing that may become one, but burning a stack of lumber isn’t the same thing as burning down a house.
Do you think a girl who is considering an abortion because she can not afford a child, is emotionally unready for it , wishes to pursue an education unencumbered by a child or has no partner to help, will not go through a couple decades of trauma if she decides to keep the child? Do you think she may face a very difficult life for both of them? For every success there are a lot that fail to prosper. It is a tough road to go down.
It’s morally superior to society currently.
The fetus has not done anything but the rapist started the whole process.
