Death-Trap is the first thing that springs to mind but now that you mention it they really kind of do look like Scrubbing Bubbles in a cute sort of way. ---

My mom has one. She loves it so much. It makes her squee! It has eyelashes. They are surprisingly roomy inside. As far as safety goes, she says that she’s old and lived a great life and she’ll drive whatever she wants, dammit. ---

Because they are fantastic for what they were designed to do: urban driving and parking in the crowded, narrow streets of European cities. They are surprisingly roomy inside (I fit without any problem in them, and I am definitely _not_ a small guy), and they have reasonably good safety features. That said, I don’t see why the manufacturer decided they were appropriate for the average conditions in the US, though. ---

I always thought they doubled as mini coffins. If you’re killed in a wreck, they don’t bother with the jaws of life. They just ship you to the funeral home, Smart car and all. ---

We’ve got an oversized 2-car garage, and we figure we could fit 6 of them in it. Not that we’d want 6 Smart cars, but that would be interesting - more interesting than 2 cars, a motorcycle, a workbench and a lumber rack. 😃 But, yeah, I can see scrubbing bubbles there… ---

A friend of mine owns a Ferrari 512TR, a Ferrari 430 (while he’s waiting for delivery of the 458) and a Smart car - all red, natch. I think the dichtomy amuses him. ---

My husband and I “decided” when they came out that if we ever got one, the cost of one of these kits would have to be budgeted in. ---
