I have not played Final Fantasy 11 in at least 5 years and recently have thought about maybe playing it again. What I do remember from when I played last was the economy of the game had gotten completely ridiculous due to nm campers and gil sellers and many players had left the game for greener pastures. I don’t really want to go back to a dead game and waste my money. Is there anybody out there that still plays?

Former six-year FFXI addict here. I gave it up about 3 years ago. The economy got completely forked because of Square-Enix’s refusal to do much of anything about gil-sellers and professional NM campers, and I was constantly frustrated that you couldn’t get any really nice gear unless you did **(sky)** or **(sea)**.

I saved forever to buy a Blau Dolch and overnight, the price dropped to a measly 100k gil. I bought it, used it for a few solo fights, then logged off for the last time. Never said goodbye to anyone.
