I mean, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, all those people recognize and do stuff for, but what about all those other days you see marked on a calendar? I kinda liked that we had national cheeseburger day this week. However, I would have had a cheeseburger anyhow. Congress likes “voting” on these “holidays” because it gives them something to talk about that won’t piss people off (maybe). ---

I would have pie on National Pie Day. Got any pie? Same with National Pot Pie Day, or National Pizza Day, or National Cheeseburger Day. Do they’ll have a National Quinoa Day, or a National Tempeh Day? 'Cause I might skip those. (In truth, I will notice in the morning paper that it is National Fried Lard Day and will yell out to the Ukuele Lady “Can you BELIEVE this shit?” And then ignore it completely.) ---

I remind people to get moles checked out in May, which is Skin Cancer Awareness month. Many dermatologists will do free screenings. I know this because [overdramatic dying voice] Save yourself! It’s too… late… for me. [/odv] ---
