Nail polish is a major turn-on for me, especially the metallic shades. Rrowrr!
Oh-oh. I’ve just been reminded to buy some nail polish remover. Some of us do the “Earl Scheib” slap-on paint-quickly jobs. Unless someone puts their face right on my foot, how can they see that I have not colored within the lines?
Some people are just more colorful than others!
I always have my toenails painted. I hate the look of naked toes. For me it is always bright red. To the point where I don’t even remove the polish, just paint over the old coat. And I keep my toenails cut very short. The hubby always wants me to grow them out, but it just seems unsanitary to me. On the other hand (as opposed to the foot), I let my fingernails grow until they break and rarely ever paint them.
Well fine, I’ll admit to loving only the weird blues, greens, blacks, and purples! Heck, I didn’t even like to wear nailpolish until the funky colors come out.
And–I seriously doubt there is a fungus that exists that matches the deep, metallic midnight blue (plus the little floral design on big toe) of my toesies right now. This, BTW, is basically the same thing I had for my wedding.
I have never been a pink (ick!) or rose (feh!) kinda girl. Deep, dark red, maybe. Bronze, sure. But no froo-froo colors.
You no like? You can suck my glossy midnight blue big toe.
I occasionally paint my toenails in a pearly pink colour - I should get a pedicure, but it’s winter over here so there isn’t much occasion to wear sandals. I painted my toenails white once, and they looked terrible.
I don’t mind metallic or strange colours - they often can look quite nice. However it’s a lot more noticeable when they start to chip, or when the nailpolish hasn’t been retouched/removed, which is why I stay clear of them. Additionally, with my semi-sheer nailpolish, I don’t need to be as perfect with the application.
So how do my peachy pink toenails and my toe ring on my middle right toe hit ya, big guy?
Well, I love nailpolish - I have about every colour under the sun. I do designs and pictures on my nails.
As for the remark that it makes the wearer seem like they have no better way to spend their time - I suppose that person has never sat on the sofa and watched TV? Besides, I always paint my nails while I am either reading or watching TV.
I ALWAYS have nail polish on my toes - because I don’t like my toe nails and because I like the way it looks. At the moment I have deep red on my fingers and toes - and I think it looks good so there!
No please. Thank you very much.
The “no better way to spend one’s time” thing is a bit of a circular argument, IMO.
If painted toenails are way way way way down low on your list of grooming priorities, then by definition there are many things you’d do before painting toenails.
If painted toenails are a little higher up your list of grooming priorities, then guess what - you paint them from time to time.
And let’s not forget that it takes mere minutes to paint toenails. A little longer if you paint a design on the big toe, but then it starts to count as artistic expression and creativity It’s not like those of us who prefer to paint the nails are sacrificing hours and hours of either productive labour, or self-edification.
See? There ya go. My kinda foot!
Dave prefers them naked, but I keep my toenails painted. It just looks odd to me if there is no colour.
Which reminds me, it’s time for a paint job.
I paint my toenails because I like wearing sandals, but a while ago I tripped and messed up the nail on one of my big toes. It looks pretty fugly–I don’t like looking at it, and why should anyone else have to. I use silvery nail polish, because it’s unobtrusive and goes with everything.
I totally agree.
Yeah, me too. They drive me real wild, I can’t explain.
That’s funny. I used to really like long toe-nails - it used to be such a turn on for me. But lately I can’t stand them. They’re so much nicer when they’re trimmed - I mean short. I think overall I do prefer the “naked” feet look.
