My weed whacker is a pump sprayer full of RoundUp.
Weed whackers make me feel incompetent and stupid. I don’t think I’ve ever, once, rewound the empty spool and had the damn thing operate properly after that. I hate 'em.
I love 'em. Of course I remember edging, and trimming around walls, fences, and trees before they existed.( and for quite a few years after…before they existed at our house).
I have a Stihl. Gas powered. No problems with it, have had it for about 12 years now.
Yes, which I why I stopped using mine, and switched to using a reel mower. In the few areas where a mower is just not feasible, like a rocky area, my yard is so small, it’s easy enough to pull the weeds in a area like that by hand.
