Reading about this, I wonder if what I’ve got going on in my right ear canal is related to some kind of nerve twitch. Every now and then it’ll feel like a tickling sensation - like there’s something, a bit of fluff or hair or something, in the canal, but there never is.

Just around my eye (aside from, possibly, the ear canal) and I can feel the twitching sensation; sometimes I can feel it by pressing a finger lightly to the spot, and once or twice I’ve been near enough to a mirror where I could look - and it does look strange.

Some t ime back, I saw a video on Youtube where someone filmed his calf experiencing a really bad muscle cramp. It looked ICKKKKKK.

They can ball up TIGHT which is why it tears/strains the muscles. Most of the time I can react quickly enough to stop them from getting that bad, but sometimes it is too late. Most of them in the calf happen to me while deep in sleep.

Yep. That’s a truly nasty wakeup call.

Once when I was a teenager, my mother came running into my bedroom because she thought I was being murdered - IIRC, both of my legs cramped up, and I was SCREAMING. Nowadays, I’m relatively good about coming from a dead sleep, to rolling to a standing position to stretch that calf, in about a half second.

Not sure this is the same one I saw, but it illustrates the ICKKKK pretty well:
