It’s a better-than-decent album for sure, but IMHO it’s not even Tool’s best album. I’d reserve that for Opiate. ---

No, I only own three albums that are even remotely in that genre, and I think that _In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 3_ by Coheed and Cambria, is better. Of course, you can say that it’s an accomplishment by Tool that I even like the album at all, but there ya go. ---

It’s too unfocused, and the artistic bits don’t mix well with the songs. Tool can do a lot better, like with _10000 Days_ or _Undertow_. But if you like it, you should check out Alchemist’s _Organasm_. ---

Aenima is the bands most popular album with all the “radio-friendly” 😉 singles. Its a great album, but not their best. I reserve that spot for Lateralus; if I’m going to sit down and listen to them this is the one I put on. ---

10,000 Days and Undertow are better, but Aenima is a decent album. I’ve been a Tool fan for years, and saw them in Toronto a few months back. ---

I have to admit that I’ve never sat and listened to the whole album, but I find Tool to be a bit repetitive, and I don’t think any band can ever lay claim to the “Best Album Ever” title, as there is always someone out there just a bit better than them waiting to record or release. One thing I don’t understand is how many 18-19 year old kids I’ve had to smack down who claim that “Maynard is the best guitarest alive!”. ---

There’s a band called “Perfect Circle” you might like 😉 Seriously you may like to try “Red” by King CrimsonThe most Tool like album from a group that heavily influenced Maynard.
