Because I am forgetful and already sealed the box, the following is a complete list of useless items that I’ll be mailing to **FairyChatMom** (hopefully) tomorrow–copied from the list in my hand I’m to lazy to unseal the box for (and this way, you all get to enjoy it!): [ul] [li]One ugly, misshapen black chenille scarf–my first foray into the wild world of knitting, now used as packing material[/li][li]One _CSI_ Crime Scene Jigsaw Puzzle Mystery, complete with ultraviolet penlight to see the special clues[/li][li]DVD of _The Wedding Date_, which I bought in a misguided bout of romanticism, and is arguably one of the worst movies I’ve ever sat down and watched from beginning to end[/li][li]Two computer games (whose names are lost to me at the moment) that I probably never played[/li][li]An animation cel that came with my _Superfriends Season 2_ box set[/li][li]A copy of Neil Gaiman’s _Neverwhere_, which I just couldn’t get into[/li][li]An _X-Files_ VHS tape, containing the episodes “Pusher” and “Jose Chung’s _From Outer Space_” (one of the top ten funniest episodes, by the way)–because I have them on DVD now :)[/li][li]One copy of _Weird NJ_ magazine[/li][li]A styrofoam toy glider, still in the package[/li][li]A box of multicolored chalk[/li][li]Six rolls of Pez[/li][li]A rubber rope watch[/li][li]A balsa-wood and paper fan I bought one exceedingly hot day at Ren Faire–it was remarkably useless[/li][li]“Flarp” Noise Putty (I don’t know how I came to own it, either, but it’s still in the package)[/li][li]A vial of those bubbles that stick to everything and never pop[/li][li]An orange Krazy Straw[/li][li]An ineffective pink water pistol[/li][li]A green, sequined, ugly picture frame from Old Navy[/li][/ul] I couldn’t figure out how best to package the dusty can of Tab I found in a convenience store about five years ago, and I’m thinking of keeping it as something of an heirloom, so it didn’t make the cut. My package should be making its way to the **tanookie** household. I predict it will be delivered by a person driving a big brown truck. The nice guy at the mailbox place said it should be there by Monday (didn’t send it till late this afternoon). This is fun! I think I did a pretty good job for a first-timer, but I’m already thinking about collecting stuff for next year. GT ---

My package was sent to my victim yesterday. I felt especially evil. Best $7 I’ve spent in awhile. I should just randomly package up shi…treasures and mail them to random folks in the phone book. HAH! Somewhere, somehow, it is probably illegal. But think of the fun! ] You know, there is an indy film waiting to be written about the _White Elephanter_. ---

When we were taking the package to the post office yesterday, Hallboy (who helped me pick out the stuff and pack it) asked who it was going to and why, so I spent a few minutes confusing the poor kid with an explaination. “But WHY are we sending it?” he asked. “Um…'cause it’s fun,” I replied. “Will we get one?” he asked. “I hope so,” I told him. That seemed to satisfy him. I can’t wait. This is almost as good a Christmas. ---

In case anyone is panicing - I - The White Elephant Queen, will not be sending out my package until this weekend, so don’t freak out if your goodies have not yet been mailed. I have started to carefully select items to include. BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! 😃 PS - Don’t anyone panic if they don’t receive a package in the next week or two - I think I said a month was OK - so no complaining until after about Oct 15th. 🙂 ---

My package is in the hands of the US Postal Service. Turns out First class and Priority cost the same, so it went Priority. With luck, it will arrive on Friday. I re-Elephanted at least one item… ---

Mine will be going out today. I must regret to inform you, I tried to pack chocolate in there, but it melted, and then I had to clean up the chocolate smudges. So if you have smudges on your stuff, sorry, just lick it off. It’s not poop but chocolatr. ---

Am I the only one waiting expectantly for the mail carrier? I feel like its Christmas. Only better cause I know I can’t use any of it ahead of time but there is no hard feelings and I fobbed some of my shit off on someone else that can’t use it and they fobbed some shit off on someone else as well… This should be some kind of National Past Time. I mean, if **Talk Like A Pirate Day** can be a recognized holiday, why can’t **White Elephant Day**? ---

It’s funny…I was so excited about sending crap to someone that I nearly forgot I was going to get some crap, too. _Now_ I’ll be waiting for mail carrier. 🙂 I think that my recipient will be getting something today, since they aren’t too far away and I mailed it priority on Monday. Eeee! ---
