Darkon is a Live Action Role Playing game centered in the Maryland area and I was just wondering if there are any dopers who are also Darkonians ---

I just recently started playing Darkon and was wondering if there were any Doper Darkonians besides be and **thebadman**. Unfortunately seeing as how I’m a newbie I can’t tell you how much things have changed in 12 years and no I was not in the movie. In case anyone is interested I am Skwee of Moot, but also have some loyalties to Carcosa. ---

A lot of vets like me feel the game has gone from people who grew up on D&D to people who grew up on WoW. In D&D, life isn’t fair and you don’t always win. You accept that and do the best you can. In WoW, however, the entire world is built around you and success is pretty much guaranteed if you play long enough. A lot of people on the SDMB won’t agree with me on this, and that’s fine. It’s just my opinion. A lot of geezers like me just shake our heads and groan, “Kids these days.” 😛 The biggest changes are I’d say are the removal of _Time Stop_, the addition of the Warrior Mage class, and a complete overhaul of the Noble Council (I am a noble). Getting resurrected is also optional now, which put an end to “rezz-assassinations”. [/QUOTE] Yeah, I also know of an old-school Mordomian on these boards, but I’ll let him identify himself if he wishes. There were other Darkonians on these boards in the past, but they either stopped posting here, stopped playing Darkon, or both. My best friend’s girlfriend is in Carcosa. What’s going on with Moot these days? Either you guys come out in force or not at all. There’s never only a handful of you. ---

I know that my first event which was the Marydell campout in march there were only 2 mootians that showed up and that counted me. My second event was this past Sunday and **thebadman** was even shocked at how many mootians there were at the event. ---

Please don’t let the Marydell campout represent to you what campouts are normally like… it’s not a very popular campsite. Come to Reunion Farm next event… that’s our main stomping grounds. I play Lord Absolom, one of the two kings of Laconia. Feel free to stop by my campsite and introduce yourself. ---

I really enjoy darkon even through the wet and the cold. I definitely plan on stopping by Laconia to introduce myself at the next event, if I can make it.
