# Does anyone know the employees of the NRA can walk the halls of the NRA HQ while carrying or not?

Just curious. I’m not talking about visitors. If I’m a manager or receptionist or file clerk at NRA HQ and I have the appropriate state carry license does the NRA HQ allow you to do concealed or open carry on their site or not?
Does anyone know?

I don’t have an answer for you, but I’ve always wondered if employees at RJ Reynolds or Philip Morris can smoke in the office.

As of 2010 this article says the answer was “yes”.

Nor can tourists at the distillery store - but they can buy a [commemorative](http://www.nashvillelifestyles.com/entertainment/a-visit-to-the-jack-daniels-distillery) bottle that has been leak tested with whiskey 😃

No, but when I took the tour the guide said all empolyees get a free bottle on the first Friday of every month (and that absenteeism is especially low on those days.)

I don’t know about packin’ heat in the hallways, but there is a shooting range at NRA HQ listed as an employee benefit.

I have a friend that interviewed at Lorillard (in North Carolina) this year and he said they fully permit smoking in the office. At people’s desks, in the break room, everywhere. No restrictions. Non smokers have air purifiers at their desks, apparently.

They are not issued keys. You have to shoot the locks off the doors.

[http://buzzpo.com/shannon-watts-caught-red-handed-lying-nra/](http://buzzpo.com/shannon-watts-caught-red-handed-lying-nra/) Per the previous link, the NRA allows both staff and visitors to either the range or National Firearms Museum to lawfully carry a concealed handgun, if in possession of a valid CHL. Even Kos’s post a few years ago on the subject admitted that employees could carry, (but not the general public).
I’d still call and confirm that though, as I’m not finding an NRA cite on their website to that effect.
