Like the title says, does anyone make game developer software for kids?

My son came home from school talking about the PC game that he and his friends are going to make. I’m pretty sure that this is a pipe dream, but I thought that it would be cool if there was an affordable software package that would let them scan in a bunch of pictures, do some very basic animation, pick a few scoring options and come up with a game that “they created.” He already does a lot of making realms in WoW Frozen Throne, but I’m thinking of something basic that would allow them to create character images from scratch.

I don’t know how kid-friendly [this is](http://tkool.jp/products/rpgvx/eng/index.html), but it might be what you’re looking for.

It’s not cheap, but [Multimedia Fusion](http://www.clickteam.com) is a program that basically lets you create any kind of game you want. It can be intimidating at first because there’s so much flexibility, but once you get the hang of it, it’s pretty versatile. The website has a free demo you can download and play around with.
