This would be a made-for-TV movie or a mini-series, in the early-mid 80’s. I THINK it was called “Leviathan”. The plot was, a submarine or submerged ship, underwater - people were trapped on it, lived there for years - they had children who had never seen the outside world. Ring any bells? ---

I assume you’re familiar with 1989’s [Leviathan](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0097737/), released to try to cash in on James Cameron’s buzz about the Abyss? It hits several of the points you’re looking for, though you do not have kids living on board their whole lives and it had a theatrical release. More of those points were hit in the TV series [SeaQuest DSV](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106126/?ref_=nv_sr_1), but that was early 90’s, not 80’s. Still, some episodes featured an underwater colony with children who had never been topside. I don’t know… that’s all I’ve got. ---

_Leviathan_… with Amanda Pays in a wet t-shirt scene. Oh yes. There were three or four of those “monster in the deeps” movies at about the same time. Another was “Deep [something]” - maybe Deep Rising? ---

I think you may be referring to [Goliath Awaits](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082461/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1). _Leviathan_ is an entirely different… animal. Christopher Lee in a made-for-TV movie. Who woulda thought? ---

The monster was like a giant crab or something. Really bad movie. _ **Deep Rising** _ came out a good bit later–in 1998–and is a fun, tongue-in-cheek, B-movie sea monster horror romp starring Treat Williams. ---

There was a strip in the comic 2000AD called \*Leviathan \*about a ship trapped in a Limbo for decades. children are born on the ship and have never seen the outside world. Whatever it was called, I remember promos for that movie: a scuba diver approaches a window in the sunken ship, and a person’s face appears (OMG!!). I watched the movie- the promo was the best part of it. ---

I saw _Leviathan_ when it came out. I thought it was mediocre. My best \*_fiend_ lived in the top half of a house that had been divided into upper- and lower apartments. An Australian guy and his g/f lived in the lower half. He couldn’t remember the name of the film, and asked, ‘So… Are you going to see… _Lavanthiol?_’ ---

It was ‘Goliath Awaits’ that I had watched, looked it up and yep. In a week or two, 31 - 31!!! - years will have passed since I watched it. In my first apartment, got home with groceries just ahead of a huge storm, and I settled in, cooked, and spent a great afternoon. ---
