I have tried to google this but only seem to come up with parodies of the song

Like:
\*
Here comes the bride, all fat and wide
Tear down the church doors to get her inside\*

But does it actually have real lyrics that aren’t parodies?

I’m not sure if anything is official in English, but here is the traditional lyrics I’ve heard. Not sure where they come from, though.

\*\*
Here comes the bride
All dressed in white
Sweetly serene in the soft glowing light
Lovely to see
Marching to thee
Sweet love united for eternity.\*\*

Not sure past that.

[Bridal Chorus](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bridal_Chorus), from _Lohengrin_, by Richard Wagner.

German and English lyrics are on the page. Here are the English ones:

\*Faithfully guided, draw near
to where the blessing of love shall preserve you!
Triumphant courage, the reward of love,
joins you in faith as the happiest of couples!
Champion of virtue, proceed!
Jewel of youth, proceed!
Flee now the splendour of the wedding feast,
may the delights of the heart be yours!
This sweet-smelling room, decked for love,
now takes you in, away from the splendour.
Faithfully guided, draw now near
to where the blessing of love shall preserve you!
Triumphant courage, love so pure,
joins you in faith as the happiest of couples!

Faithfully guarded, remain behind
where the blessing of love shall preserve you!
Triumphant courage, love and happiness
join you in faith as the happiest of couples.
Champion of vitrue, remain here!
Jewel of youth, remain here!
Flee now the splendows of the wedding feast,
may the delights of the heart be yours!
This sweet-smelling room, decked for love,
has now taken you, away from the splendour.
Faithfully guarded, remain behind
where the blessing of love shall preserve you!
Triumphant courage, love and happiness
join you in faith as the happiest of couples.\*

It’s from a German opera by Wagner, _Lohengrin_. [Here](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bridal_Chorus) are the original lyrics, with English translation.

Curse you, **Johnny**! You must be on L.A. time…

I always heard “Here comes the bride, big fat and wide, here comes the groom skinny as a broom”

As kids we sang “Here comes the bride. all dressed in pink. Opened the window and let out a stink”.

Well, I didn’t write it!
