Heh. Interesting. You got a cite for that? I’m not asking you in a snotty “I disagree” way, but I’m itching to see what types of “competition” are included in New Mexico’s constitution. Drinking games? Lawn darts? Archery? Wet T-shirts?

New Mexico election law in the event of a tie, which you can find at http://www.findlaw.com (but the url to the specific statute, New Mexico Stat. Ann. §1-13-11, won’t work on here due to formatting) refers to a tie being determined by lot. IIRC, for this election the parties had agreed that in the event of a tie the method of random selection (i.e. “determination by lot”) was to be a hand of poker.
