# Does Jon Arbuckle have a job?

This is one of my favorite Garfield parodies, too. When I first read it, I had trouble breathing I was laughing so hard somewhere in the middle. It was somewhere between the ones where he keeps burping, “I gotta poop!” and the Hitler one.

I’m reminded of an old _Fusco Brothers_ strip – Al Fusco is applying for a loan:

BANKER: You didn’t state your employment.

AL: It’s like this . . . Remember how in the old _Ozzie and Harriet_ show, Ozzie never seemed to have a job? That’s because his job was simply **being** Ozzie Nelson. Similarly, my job is simply **being** Al Fusco.

BANKER: I don’t understand.

AL: Look out there. [points at the reader]

BANKER: Oh, my God! We’re on camera!

I actually like Garfield, but thought this was one of the most amazing things I’ve seen in a long time. Thoroughly recommended.
