This is one of my favorite Garfield parodies, too. When I first read it, I had trouble breathing I was laughing so hard somewhere in the middle. It was somewhere between the ones where he keeps burping, “I gotta poop!” and the Hitler one.

I’m reminded of an old Fusco Brothers strip – Al Fusco is applying for a loan:

BANKER: You didn’t state your employment.

AL: It’s like this . . . Remember how in the old Ozzie and Harriet show, Ozzie never seemed to have a job? That’s because his job was simply being Ozzie Nelson. Similarly, my job is simply being Al Fusco.

BANKER: I don’t understand.

AL: Look out there. [points at the reader]

BANKER: Oh, my God! We’re on camera!

I actually like Garfield, but thought this was one of the most amazing things I’ve seen in a long time. Thoroughly recommended.
