Shimano makes some very nice reels. Very nice.
I think this whole thing is fishy.

Ocean use is a real, live issue which I hope a lot of rational people take part in the discussion of (I deal with it a little at work; these are my opinons not those of blah blah…).
There are whole truckful of people who all have legitimate interests in a finite amount of coastal area. Some groups that didn’t exist twenty years ago (offshore wind farms, I’m looking at you) and some who didn’t have as much clout (wetlands fan club int’l), plus all your public beaches, sport fishermen, conservation groups, commercial fishermen, offshore resource folks, resorts, etc etc etc.
I hope this doesn’t become a nutjob shouting point. And a pony. I hope for rational political discourse and a pony, and I’m gonna go buy some hay right now.
Are you going to start to carp now, from your lofty perch…?
There are already ocean areas where no fishing is allowed. As fishing stocks decline, there will be more such areas. Or, there will be no more fish.
Any good statistics on commercial vs recreational fish taking numbers? I can’t seem to get a good search going on Google for it.
If they take away my guns, how will I shoot fish?
I am not taking that bait.
Well it is pretty crappie, but I’m floundering for the right words. Maybe they just jumped the shark? Or did it for the halibut? It could just be a fluke.
ETA: never mind, someone beat me to the joke. Dammit!!!
The Pew Environment Group are a very cashed up and influential lobby group, they have had some limited success in locking some Australian waters, their not you typical tree huggers by any means with the trust having five billion in assets they can wield some real power.
First they came for the bass,
but I said nothing for I was not a Bass Master.
Then they came for the tarpon,
but again I said nothing, since they don’t taste good and anyway I’m not Greek.
Then they came for the the dolphin,
which confused me, since it’s a name for a fish and a mammal
Then they came for the snook,
which amused me, as the name snook sounds kind of funny
Then they came for me,
for writing bad poetry
Cut the carp-old fish puns stink like…well, you know.
I heard he wants to ban databases too, so it’s really just a fool’s game.
Yeah, but they lured you in, didn’t they?
hook, line, and sinker.
They can have my fishing lures when they pry them from my cold, clammy lips with needlenose pliers in the ER!!
Methinks you better get that list going pronto, he might not have but 2.7 yrs left…
Well, how about as a fashion statement?
“Dude, all the guys in the band have piercings, but that guy’s got a fishing lure through his lip! Awesome!”
“Well, he is the bass player…”
