I need a template in PowerPoint for a basic flowchart. (Who creates flowcharts anymore?) Just the basic symbols I can scale and throw something together (with four steps) to please my boss. Does such a thing exist?

If not PowerPoint, where might I find such a thing for free compatible with Office Suite and easily editable / scalable?

Please don’t ask me to re-invent the wheel. 😢

I think you want something like Visio. I’ve used [draw.io](http://draw.io) for that. It did the job. You can export all the popular formats.

First of all, which version of PowerPoint are you using? Certainly the newer ones have templates built-in and can download others from the web.

With PowerPoint open, click the “Insert” menu. Then you have two options:

- To insert symbols one at a time yourself, select _Shapes \> Flowchart_.
- To have PowerPoint help you build the flowchart, select _Smart Art \> Process_ (and if none of those options works for the kind of flowchart you have in mind, poke around the other types of Smart Art).

I’ll try it. Thanks!
