> Me, I find unplotted porn boring (no pun intended 🙂 ) and have pretty much given up on it.

Agreed. I don’t require a “plot” per se, but I like there to at least be a _premise_. I want to see at least a token setup that provides a bit of context for the sex. I’ve gotten really tired of this current trend (in online porn, anyway), of bringing in some girl, sitting her on the couch and interviewing her for a bit, and then some guy comes in and has sex with her. It’s like they’re going down a checklist until they get to “And now it is time to fuck.”

(And while I’m making generic rants about online porn … I like a blowjob as much as the next guy, but current porn just seems obsessed with the act. The girl goes down on the guy, and then it just goes on and on and on and on and on until I’m all, “Gah! Get to the point already!” And then there’re the positions. At this point I am freakin’ sick and tired of “cowgirl” followed by “reverse cowgirl” followed by “spoon”. Jeez these modern porn merchants love that spooning. I’m tired of seeing it, and besides that it looks awkward as hell. And I’m remembering a one-panel cartoon I saw a while back that showed two actual spoons in bed, all spooned together, and one of them thinking to itself, “Can’t we just _fuck_ once in a while?”)

What’s even better is that the explicit sexual content segment itself was known colloquially as “the pickles and beaver shot”.

Nixon commissioned a panel on porn, which came out with a report, IIRC, that it wasn’t all that bad. So they threw out the report. I saw a porn just after that called “The President’s Commission Report” illustrating, profusely, each of the major points in the report - an excellent example of the thing you mention.

It amuses me the way the women in these things are always staring at the camera, no matter what they are doing to whom or having done to them by whomever. Its like they don’t even know the guy(s) is / are there; they are performing for the camera. The guys, at least, are usually sort of dedicated to their craft.

I’m over the fake moans, the fake boobs (thankfully lessening in the last few years), and the clear lack of pleasure they are getting out of what is supposed to be an intensely pleasurable act.

It isn’t that hard to actually switch off from “performing” and instead just enjoy it for what it is, so I wish the participants would do that more often. It’s quite disappointing.

Also, it seems to me that the creators are so numb to it now, that they completely fail to understand how to create something that is actually erotic or entertaining, and it’s all gone limp.

We need a porn renaissance.

Nixon himself screened Deep Throat three times before he had it down Pat.
(I never could pass up a chance to tell that joke)

The trend is going back around. There are a number of new parody films out now, some of them are actually better than the parodies they produced in the 70s and 80s. New Sensations WKRP parody actually does a very decent job with the characters, although the pairings make no sense (Bailey getting it on with Les?!?) and they totally missed an opportunity to have Nina Hartley as Mrs Carlson.

OF course the classic porn blooper is the one where the camera man gets hit by a stray shot…easy to find if you go looking for it.

I’ll say, it’s more like more in this current crop actually ARE parodies, as opposed to merely a free riff on a title premise. But yes, it’s an improvement.

True. The WKRP parody included accurate sets, costumes, hairstyles and characters. The guy playing Johnny Fever was actually pretty good, as was the Bailey (shame about the tramp stamp). I’ll give them a lot of credit for actually trying, although I’ve read many better parodies on alt.sex.stories and at [storiesonline.net](http://storiesonline.net). If they could produce one of parodies written by Shelby Bush or Uncle Mike, they’d stand a chance of making something that people would watch for reasons other than just sex.
