# Does story research = homework?

I know there’s a rule (or thought there was anyway)that we’re not supposed to help people who seem to be posting for help with homework or schoolwork-does research for a book/movie/play count the same way?

No, not at all.

Also, I’m not sure the no homework rule is still in effect. I’ll check.

Here is the current rule:

In my opinion (just my opinion) if someone used the SDMB to help with research on a book and thanked the forum in their acknowledgements that would be pretty cool. 🙂
