# Does the "ignore" function work on Discourse? SOLVED

I have seen the same misleading error when trying to ignore a user. If the system can’t auto-complete the username it will give you this error even though it would make more sense to say “cannot find user.”

You can tell it has found the user if the name has an “x” next to it like the users who are already on your ignore list.
