# Does the US military still use firing squads?

Does the US military retain firing sqauds as it’s execution method or has it switched to lethal injection? If it’s the latter when did it change (hasn’t it been decades sinc eht last military execution)?

The last millitary execution was in 1961. Private John Bennet was hanged for rape and attempted murder. There are currently 9 people on the millitary death row, and the approved method is lethal injection.
I can’t find any executions by firing squad carried out by the millitary after World War II. The last one I could find was the execution of Private Eddie Slovik for desertion.

It must be the early hour, but that thread title gave me a mental image of a a large conference table with a dozen or so Donald Trumps sitting at it.
