Does the USPS deliver everywhere six days a week?

I’m pretty sure that’s how most US post offices operate.

And this is interesting. Do Fedex and UPS also use this system to get stuff to the bush communities?

Same here. It’s usually not a problem. But it can be tough when ordering stuff on line and they don’t tell you if it’s shipped USPS, UPS, or Fed-X.

My solution for that is to take my street address and add the box number to the end (example would be 123 Main Street, POB 4567). The Post Office ignores the street address and just uses the POB. FedEx and UPS ignore the POB part and just use the street address.

This works for me because my P.O. Box and my street address have the same ZIP code.

My question was based on the news about Saturday delivery . I was wondering to what extent the USPS is free to make those kinds of “business” decisions on a smaller scale rather than across the board.

So … does anybody have an example of local changes to your delivery situation based on economics?

i did read some days ago that i believe the House had something passed forbidding them from ending Saturday delivery.

So some more… does anybody know whether a local postmaster has the ability to adjust delivery if spending that taxpayer’s money wisely was important to him?
