Clearly the ‘replies’ counter stops after a thread is locked, but what about views? For example, the epic alternate-author [LoTR](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=138905)thread has 2,041 views. Is that count as of its locking or as of today? I tried reading a thread and checking, but don’t know if I’d already been there so the Board doesn’t track or if the views database is updated at intervals. ---

It continues. Most noticeable in the “\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ was banned” threads when there are no replies. ---
