SF6 is a much better insulator than air. It is not uncommon for high voltage lab experiments to be installed in an SF6 tank. ---

[/QUOTE] You can buy tanks of gas online from [BOC](http://www.boc-gases.com/about_us/worldwide/index.asp) in the UK, Asia, Europe and various Commonwealth Countries, and [Linde/Spectragases](http://www.spectragases.com/content/SulfurHexafluoridesemi.htm) in the US. You _may_ be able to order it from them (possibly online). You may run into problems getting them to sell it for use at home though. ---
