My husband finds the way I get dressed strange. I don’t like to put my bare feet on the cold floor, so when I get dressed, I put on one pantleg, then the corresponding sock and shoe. I wear slippers , so in the middle of dressing, I have on one pant leg, with shoe and sock, with a slipper on the other foot. To me, this is just economy of motion. If I put on both legs of my pants, I’d have to take of and put back on my slippers, then my shoes. See? Not weird at all. What habits do you have that seem strange to others but are perfectly logical to you? ---

Everyone has their little quirks, if we can even call them that. It’s usually just small stuff, and, as they say, don’t sweat the small stuff. ---

I run barefoot on the house but if I am getting dressed to go out I do the same, take care of one leg at a time. ---

Socks go on last for me - I get dressed in the bathroom after I shower, so I toss my bath towel on the tile floor to keep my feet from getting cold when I step out, and my socks would get wet if I put them on while standing on the damp bath towel. The only weirdness problem I have getting dressed is that I have four cats all trying to roll on the wet towel under my feet - why they gotta do that, I don’t know, but they do. And occasionally I have a cat try to climb into my undies as I’m stepping into them. (why they do _THAT_, I don’t know) so now and then I discover a cat tail or paw stuck as I’m trying to pull them up. Yeah lovely picture I know… sorry. :rolleyes: ---

If I wore shoes around the house, I would likely do the same as the OP. As it is, I wear slippers just about until I’m walking out the door. ---

you’re weird. what if a saber-toothed tiger attached? you wouldn’t be able to run with one shoe and one leg in pants and the other bare. get a throw rug. ---

DeHusband puts on socks first after his shower, then wanders the house until he decides to finish getting dressed. At least he puts on his boxers third. (After his undershirt.) The last thing I put on (and the first thing I take off) are my shoes. ---

I’m not _that_ old! Besides, I’d just outsmart him. If I actually had to run, I’m willing to have one shoe and one slipper with the pants flapping away. The doc that treated it told me I can never go barefoot again or it will come back. That may or may not be true, but I’m not willing to risk it. ---

My special trick: When I put on a shirt, I button it from the top to the bottom, buttoning only _every other button._ Then when I reach the bottom button, I button the in-between buttons, from the bottom to the top. The logic behind that? If, upon reaching the bottom button, I find that I’ve got the buttons aligned with the wrong button-holes, then I only have half as many buttons to un-button. Doesn’t happen often, but every now and then. ---

It’s a little weird, but nothing to write home about. I don’t wear socks at all, just slip-on flats. But if I were you, I think I’d put the socks on before my pants. ---

The one sock one shoe, other sock other shoe thing was used in the show All in the Family. Rob Reiner says it was based on an actual argument between him and Carrol O’Connor. ---

Have you ever considered putting a sock on each foot before you put your pants on? Oh, and as a general rule, if you ever find yourself asking “Does this make me weird?”, the answer is usually “yes”. Not that anything is wrong with “weird”, you know? ---

After taking off my socks, I have to “floss” between my toes with the sock. And I have a completely unique way of tying my shoes. My dad didn’t teach me the standard method. Instead, he made a shoe out of wood with laces, showed me what a bow looked like, and said to make something that looked like it. So I came up with my own, and that’s what I’ve used ever since. I don’t know if he specifically was trying to make a weirdo, but he succeded. As I told a friend, virtually every story I have about my childhood is weird. ---
