If you need another data point, the OB who delivered the sprog had four kids of his own and delivered each one. That was 12 years ago (); he may have had more since then. FTR, he specializes in very high-risk pregnancies and deliveries, so he’s seen everything that can go wrong.

**Does working in the medical field ruin one’s libido?**

No, it doesn’t. In fact…uh, never mind. 🆒

Two comments:

1. It affects my interest in immediate physical contact when I come home. “Hey honey, how was your day” hug nuzzle can be met with “Don’t touch me until I shower!”

2. I work with seniors. Not every day does someone die, but when I have been caring for someone and they die on my shift, it is guaranteed I want my son to go to my mom’s and I warn the hubby to “be ready.” No I am not turned on by death but there is something incredibly life affirming about sex and the whole circle of life thing.
but otherwise, what **WhyNo** t said about hours.

Or a woman, if they’re so inclined. 😃

From my anecdotal experience (I’m a [lay] director at a medical clinic; my wife is a surgery nurse at the same clinic), I’d say no.

On days that one or both of us is just not feelin’ it, it’s due to garden variety workplace fatigue and stress, not to any problem with the blood-and-guts nature of the job.

HMO, I assume?

Actually I did too, when the Lovely and Talented Mrs. **Shodan** and I were trying to conceive.

Nope. Not for me, anyway.

My intended was a coroner.

His job didn’t negatively affect his libido **overall** , though after really awful cases (dead baby due to parental abuse, for example) he’d go into his own head for a day or two.

> I will admit, I often find myself absent mindedly taking my husband’s pulse or listening to his breath sounds when we’re just cuddling on the couch. And I find his (retired paramedic) hand gently palpating my veins, as if searching for just the right spot for a nice 18 gauge IV line. 😃

My intended was the one who’d notice when my (lifelong) asthma would flare up. He’d notice the wheezing or shortness of breath before I do, and would tell me to go check my peak flow/chide me for not checking it that morning.
