The neighbor with the dinosaur in his yard also had a fabric canopy tent with chairs and a table in his front yard. This morning the entire tent, concrete filled buckets and all was over his fence and tangled around his mail box. One of the chairs was on his roof. The kids across the street aren’t that good about bring their trash can up from the street, which is where it was last night. It’s probably in Phoenix by now. We didn’t have any damage, but we also don’t have light things out for the wind to take. VBC must have gotten mad at GG last night because she jumped the baby gate so she could sleep with us. The poor lil guy has never slept alone all night long and he cried so much that hubs got up and moved to the recliner so GG would have someone to sleep with. They are buddies again this morning 🙂 ---

**Flyboy** , your comments about Vioux Carres reminded me - someone gave me a straight shot of Benedictine once and I loved it and went looking for a bottle of my own. It seems, or seemed, that it was one of those things that the Oregon Liquor Control Commission didn’t think Oregonians should have. Next time I’m in a likker store I’ll have to ask about it. Also, I tried the dog thingee, several times. A Morning at the Mall My wife and I walk at our local mall. In bad weather we walk indoors, but we mostly walk outside. This morning we went out to breakfast as usual and then to the mall to walk for an hour or so. Today we were walking the edges of the parking lot. This adds up to a little over three miles or five kilometers. About a third of the way though our walk a car sped into the lot. It was a blue Toyota, no license plates and some body damage on the drivers side rear quarter. There were three people in the car. The driver was squealing tires and racing around the lot, but not near us. There is a two story parking garage at one end, by a J C Penny store. The driver pulled into the ground level and slammed to a stop by the doors and two women got out of the car. They went up to the doors as if to see if the store was open (it was not) and then got back in the car. At this point the situation looked a little shady, but they drove out of the garage. We kept on with our walk after realizing that they were well out of our path. They pulled up to another door. This door was open, but for some reason they did not go in. They jumped back into the car and drove back into the ground floor of the parking garage. We had continued our walk and were not very close to the garage when we heard five gunshots. We could mo longer see the car, but it had not left the parking garage. I called 911 and reported the gunshots. We gave the operator all of the information that we had at the time and, while I was still talking to dispatch, we heard sirens. A few seconds later we saw the blue Toyota drive at very high speed across the parking lot with a police car right behind. We could hear more sirens on the way. The operator asked if we felt safe, and if we could wait in our car for the officer in charge of the investigation. I told her we were fine and that we would wait. I told her what we were driving and where we were parked. Fifteen or twenty minutes later dispatch called me back and asked if we could meet the sergeant in charge at the garage. When we got to the other side of the mall there were a half dozen police cars there. We gave our statements and contact info. I asked if they caught them, but was informed that they did not. I told the sergeant that he could call me if there was any thing I could do to help and we went on our way. Usually our walks are not quite this exciting…. ---

The response time was so quick because one of the police officers was close enough that he heard the shots too. There was no one hurt, and the police did not find any damage from the gunshots. My theory is that one of the people in the car was just firing at random. ---

That’s…a bit more exciting than most walks should be. Glad you weren’t close enough to be in danger, hope they catch the folks doing the shooting, **hippie**. Nice pic of Monkey, **shoe** ; looks like he belongs to the Buddhist method of sleeping… **JtC** , that’s sad–but I guess husband-unit is too set in his ways to change. Dined at Outback and…I may have to take them off the Sunday list. Bread was cold (most of the steak places here take pride in serving hot bread/rolls) and the steak was fatty and not that great. Already have Longhorn and Texas Roadhouse on my Sunday rotation (both cheaper than Outback) so will have to think of a place to replace it. Also bought a new TImex watch at Target, and knowing myself too well, I bought a second on as a spare. Now nappage beckons, and I think I’ll succumb to it’s siren call. All y’all take care. ---

I felt like being a good shop neighbor today, so I went in and did a whole bunch on planeing. There’s a radio station next door to be in the building, and they don’t really like the planer, so I did it on sunday afternoon. Not quite done, but I emptied the 55 gallon wood chip collection bin twice in 4 hours and now the dumpster’s full. Enough of that for a weekend day. Time for a grapefruit vodka soda and some chillage. ---

I installed the cove molding and changed out 3 burnt-out fluorescent tubes in her office, then gathered a bunch of crap together and loaded it in the truck. SIL came over with the kids and I took their car and brought the kids home so SIL could help Daughter put her office together. There’s more to do, but here’s how it looked this afternoon. For the record, the building is quite old. **FCD** changed out the light switch and discovered there’s no ground - just 2 wires. So the electrical isn’t exactly up to current code. And the HVAC throughout the school needs to be replaced. And most of the books are hand-me-down from other schools. It’s a tiny school with a tiny budget, but the staff is very dedicated. **taters** , I’m not a fan of pickled jalapeños, but I like fresh ones just fine. They’re not really what I’d call a hot pepper, but the fresh ones are a nice, bright addition to some things. **flyboy** , that sounds like a typical hangover breakfast to me. :d&r: I hope that you don’t have that kind of excitement on future walks **hippy**. Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated, got back to da cave, had a little quality cee-mint pond/day drinkin’ time, achieved nappage and had sup. All in all a good day. Tomorrow is men’s night over to the church house, so steaks are marinatin’ and beer is chillin’. The biiiiiiiiiiiig trash can has been hauled all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow as well. More chillage ensues. **MOOOOOOM** the walls look great. Hope FCDaughter can do the needed fundraisin’ in record time. **Hippie** 😲 Good on y’all for helpin’ out the police. **JtC** poor lonesome GG! Glad hubs kept him company. Here’s hopin’ the weather calms down soon. Don’t remember the last time we went to Outback. We usually go to Longhorn’s because it is convenient to get to and out of there. I am a fan of jalapeños, especially jalapeño poppers. ---

Went out and pulled a contractor’s Hefty bag full of weeds, took out the trash and recycling, and moved the rest of the wood to the back yard and stacked it. I’m calling it two and a half hours of yard work for my exercise today. Pfui on mowing the lawns today. ---
