although as someone whose Doberman was on the "notorious " dog list at the local pound for being the only dog ever that they had to use a cowcatcher and a running truck to catch (according to the officer on the phone he was radared at 40 mph from a dead stop) I was also told they did a blood test to see if he had grey or any other racing dog genes in him … No, he just originally lived out in the middle of nowhere with people who jogged miles each day …and when they didn’t run they just opened the door and told him to go needless to say city officials didn’t agree with that philosophy in town ---

I was running a five mile race many years ago in Florida. Around the middle of the race, some daffy woman opened her front door to look at the people running by. That was her dog’s chance to join the race (a friendly yellow lab type dog), and he quickly caught up to the guy in front of me. That guy freaked out, giving little yelps and swatting at it. Frustrated the dog came back to me, and I just yelled at it very loudly, so he went back to the guy in front of me. The guy started sprinting to get away from the dog, and I’m thinking that if he beats me because of the dog, I will be quite upset. I finally passed the guy, who was on his back on the side of the road with the dog on top of him, licking his face. An amusing day at the races. ---

What dog would do best at the shot put? I’m guessing a mastiff type.
