That’s fair.

I used ‘flat tax’ as a surrogate for reining in the ‘unwieldy’ and ‘ungodly’ aspects that tend to give **[massive deductions to the relative few](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/do-the-rich-pay-their-fair-share/921817)** and that constitutes the 75,000 page Tax Code and US Treasury’s interpretation _of_ that code.
