Is there any search tool to find web sites purely by domain name? For instance, if I want to find all sites that have “audio” in the name. Some kind of wildcard search, like ‘_audio_’ type thing?

Yes. For example, if you’re searching on [http://www.ixquick.com](http://www.ixquick.com) you can narrow your search by fields. See the bottom box on [this ixquick search help page](http://ixquick.com/eng/power_search_techniques.html)

Thanks a lot for your help. Someone else also mentioned to me that using the Altavista advanced search, I can type ‘url:audio’, e.g. and that works too.

I think that in AltaVista, you actually want domain:audio . url: will return sites that have the string “audio” anywhere in the URL, including path or filenames.
