Unfortunately, that’s not going to move the needle much. A large part of his base remains firmly in the anti-vax, “Covid was a hoax” camp, and they applaud anything he does, even (or especially) with regards to Russia. So this is just another plus for them. ---

I just stumbled on this 3-minute campaign ad from Johnson’s 1964 re-election bid. It’s a Republican voter explaining why he can’t bring himself to vote for Goldwater. Remember when yelling YARGH at a campaign rally could doom you? Or, talking about “binders full of women”? Now you can fully crank up the LIE meter and talk about kids getting sex changes at school and people eating cats & dogs and still be a viable candidate. All the while yelling YARGH, fucking couches, and talking about grabbing women by the pussy. This country has fully gone off the rails. ---
