I don’t watch TV. Even if I did I would not waste my energy on anything this vile clown has to say. I’m sure some version of it will float around in my Reddit feed but I won’t seek it out. ---

No, I think I stopped watching Very Special Addresses even by presidents I _liked_ a long time ago.\* All the salient details will be out there immediately. \*It doesn’t help that we’re knocking on our tenth year of having presidents whose prepared speeches are chores to listen to. ---

I think this might be accurate. It’s not often that any US president goes on national TV except in what might be considered unusual circumstances. But, like many of you all, I cannot stand the tone and timbre of his voice and can’t stand to look at him. So I will just count on collective osmosis later in the day. So far the replies all seem to be of the variety “I’d rather get a colonoscopy / root canal / stick needles in my eyes / rip my fingernails out”. Perfectly understandable. But I’m going to go against the grain, here. A part of me would very much like to witness him mentally unraveling live before the American people. Yes, I’m sure he’ll be pumped full of Adderall and whatever other cocktail of drugs can temporarily put off the sundowning of an advanced dementia patient, but drugs can only do so much. His public events have been limited lately, and the ones he has attended have been rambling shit-shows of crazy-- even by trumpian standards. These events though, like a rally or a Christmas address, while public and reported on by the press, don’t have nearly the exposure a prime-time address to the public will have. What bingo-card insanity of Peruvian snake stories, hatred of Somalian immigrants, venom against his enemies, melting magnets, cancerous windmills, denial of inflation as a liberal hoax, rhapsodizing about the penis size of famous people he admires, and calling out women who look as hot as his daughter, all sprinked with S-bombs and F-bombs, might he unleash tonight? If he totally loses the plot and has to be gently but firmly led away by an aide or two after 20 or 30 minutes of nonsensical rambling, I think I will be a little sad that I only got to hear of it second-hand. ---

Yeah…it wouldn’t be quite the same as the delicious schadenfreude of witnessing a historic trump meltdown _ **live** _ before tens of millions of the American people, though. I mean, I say this now, but I can’t guarantee I’ll be able to go more than 5 minutes of him talking without changing channels from the actual physical pain of listening to him. So we’ll see. ---

One of the news outlets (sorry, can’t remember which one) reported that trump will be “addressing the world”. Not me, I’ll be in the pub. Fortunately, by the time I get to reading the Dope on Thursday morning, you’ll have dissected whatever word salad he produced and tell me what lies he actually told.
