Donald Trump Wins Electoral College Election

I’m glad we’re past this point. I really don’t like that so many electors received threats regarding their vote.

Hope the democrats in the senate filibuster all his destructive legislation.

Encourage city governments, state governments, state attorney generals who lean left to fight against Trump and tie him up in the courts and create tons of red tape to block him. I think the large cities (Chicago, NY, SF, LA, etc) and the state governments in places like California will play a big role in resisting Trump. Lawsuits, criminal charges, red tape, etc.

Encourage activist groups, constitution groups, etc. to create as many lawsuits, protests and hassles as possible.

Do what we can to ensure accountability, transparency and punishments for corrupt, criminal or unconstitutional behavior. And there will be a lot of this.

I do hope liberals rise to the occasion. Liberals on the whole tend to be fairly involved, activist people. So I hope we do something to mitigate the damage of the next 4-8 years.

Hope the fact that of the 1000 or so federal judges in the US, about 700 of them were appointed by Clinton and Obama means the judiciary will be friendly to attempts to hamstring Trump and the GOP.

Could always get rid of the filibuster. That precedent has been set.

The federal power to tax income can make life pretty rough for regions that don’t follow federal law. Withholding that money is not a new tactic.

Politics is going to be fun in this hyper-partisan atmosphere.

Undaunted by frustrated prior expectations, Captain Obvious makes yet another run at the Pulitzer. Perhaps this will be the year.

Haters gonna hate. And the fact remains that D’Rump had two faithless electors, which is twice as many as any winning candidate since 1808. The number may have even been higher had the Dems not made so much noise.

The five faithless Clinton electors were clearly rebelling against the Electoral system itself. (Faith Spotted Eagle? C’mon!) They knew their candidate lost so it didn’t matter. But the two solid red electors who rejected Trump obviously felt that they really didn’t want Trump as president. And these are members of his own party that D’Rump must somehow find a way to lead.

Hope that his life of debauchery and poor diet leads to a massive stroke and he spends the remainder of his days bedridden and unable to move, watching Melania service Bill Clinton.

Go ahead, the GOP will not be in the majority forever.

Texas threw up a lot of roadblocks to Obama, California will do the same to Trump. The cities and states can and will refuse to cooperate. Several of the cities have already said they will pass up federal funding if need be to uphold their values.

State government, city government, attorney generals, etc. can drag Trump’s agenda down and stall/slow/stop many of his agendas. If Trump does something like pull out of Paris climate agreement, then cities and states can voluntarily adopt the rules w/o the federal government. That is what they did when Bush didn’t support Kyoto.

Private companies are refusing to help Trump create a muslim registry. There will be pushback on multiple levels to Trump and the GOP.

Yes. When the GOP is the minority, they can obstruct 100% of everything, but when the dems are the minority they are expected to be cooperative. What Trump and the GOP wants to do is 90% destructive and needs to be stopped.

Well I’m stating the obvious, but unfortunately, as I’ve seen in this board, people still don’t believe it. People just make up rumors it’s not over, the election is going to change at December 19th, etc. Do I believe that? I don’t. Some do.

Actually, it speaks volumes about liberal hysteria, not Trump or his qualifications.

Just like the whole California becoming its own country silliness.

Slee

Say what you will about liberals getting hysterical; at least they didn’t elect Donald Trump to the Presidency. Conservatives getting hysterical bear the responsibility for that. Which means the Republican party has now tied its future to how good a job Trump is going to do.

Four years from now, Republicans may be looking back on this day as one of their worst defeats.

Really? Is it just liberals who see him as utterly unqualified to be President?

To be fair, Trump is worth being a little hysterical about. He’s promised: To torture people, to kill the families of terrorists, to deport millions, to institute a religious test to enter the country, default on our debt, to balloon the deficit by trillions, ignore climate change, and a bunch of other stuff.

He’s not Romney or McCain. He’s actually an evil, vindictive pissant. And he’s got a congress ready to send him stuff to sign. He might be reined in by congress, but the GOP congress has, in the last few years, been beholden to goofballs.

Breaking news: The presidency of the United States of America is now, officially, a joke. Congratulations all around.

Just for the record you are a fan of gridlock and states’ rights now?

Let hope for a smooth transition to the next faux scandal.

Maybe a combination of Polynesian Hackers and the Peruvian Guano Cartel, determined to propel Trump to the White House.

Hawaii went for Sanders from the 5 Hillary faithless; and one of the 2 Trump faithless went for the aged loon Ron Paul, who would be just as bad as Pence.

I seem to remember you expressed something similar before, with a different actor, perhaps Obama ? Most amusing.

And liberals wonder why they are historically despised. A wholesome mix of crudity and utter cruelty.

Old Obama’s already doing all that stuff. Let’s hope Trump discontinues Terror Tuesdays.
Although I do think Trump, probably bored with such duties, maybe appoints the wretched Obama as Dronemaster General and allows him to come in one day a week to continue his favourite pastime of killing some folks.

Quite a few Republicans let it be known that *they *considered Trump unqualified. Of course, most came crawling back to him later They will remain loyal–at least until after the Inauguration. If Trump gets even more bonkers, let the impeachment proceedings begin. They will be shocked to discover conflict of interest, Russian influence, etc. He might even resign rather than fight it out–Nixon did.

Next, President Pence.

How does liberal hysteria cause Texas electors to publicly state that Trump’s not “biblically qualified” to be president?

And considering all that Trump’s promised to do and all that he’s done so far, hysteria is a far more logical reaction that burying your head in the sand.

Liberals are “historically despised” by conservatives who have been forced to stop doing things like polluting the air and water, forcing people to work in unsafe conditions, discriminating against people based on race, religion or gender, and sending in armies of hired goons to beat up union members. Because liberals are mean like that.

How many?

Quoted for future reference.

You guys and gals have really lost your minds since the election.
