For those of you who want to put Trump’s remarks as a “joke” or a “misspeak”, remember that Paul Manafort helped install the pro-Putin Viktor Yanukovych in power in the Ukraine back in 2010. He fled Ukraine to Russia in 2014 due to a popular uprising. But I think she’s just teasing us and getting our hopes up. More seriously, this kind of apocalyptic bullshit just irritates me. Republicans made the same dire predictions if Obama were elected in 2008 or reelected in 2012. It riles up the GOP base but has no basis in reality, and reinforces the “our foes are the Antichrist” doomsday narrative that makes getting anything done in Washington nearly impossible. ---
