It was completely off the record, but “YES! YES! YES!” was the latest out of Trump Tower. It’s all deep background info, but Melania has been definitively ruled out as the source. ---

The latest projection from 538 is Hillary’s worst since the convention bump. Her (polls-only) odds of winning have dropped to 63%, and Ohio, NC and Iowa have flipped red. :eek: ---

What makes me nervous: Trump’s supporters are rock solid, and impervious to any reality-based revelation. He was absolutely correct when he said he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue without impacting his numbers. Hillary’s support is paper-thin. They man the lifeboats, hit the silk, every time she does something stupid – and she does something stupid every goddam week. So she will probably clobber Trump in the debates and it won’t make any difference. Then there’ll be another email or Clinton Foundation “revelation” (amounting to nothing) and she’ll lose another 2%. ---

Trump cut bite the head off a bat onstage and give a slurpy blow job to Putin on national television and Trump’s voters would just say “emails”. I’m getting concerned, but you have to bear in mind that the polls all make certain assumptions about who will turn out. But the Trump voters will turn out and I think everybody else will too. This election is going to have epic turnout and the debates are going to be the top rated show in history. But don’t forget, if the polls includes Johnson and Stein, discount them. Johnson voters will bail. They can’t bring themselves to vote for Trump, so I think Hillary picks them up. ---

There’s always the off chance Trump gets cocky after a good debate and starts taunting disabled veterans while visiting a VA hospital or goes on some profane tweet binge about how a handicapped child getting in and out of a car held up his entourage for a few minutes, though the campaign has done a remarkable job of muzzling the Don.
