That’s it? Seriously? Hell, he’s just opened it up for the other side to do the same thing. Some rich Democrat (don’t laugh, they exist!) could offer to do the same if Romney releases his tax records. And all Obama has to do in response to Trump’s offer is say, “Sure. Just as soon as Romney releases \*his \*tax and school records. You know, for fairness.” That immediately puts it right back on Romney. Lame. Heck, I was kind of looking forward to some sort of Trumped-up (heh) bit of salaciousness. This is homeopathic tea. ---

Deadline on Trump’s offer is Oct. 31st. I wonder if it would be possible for Obama to release all the records and donate $5 million of his own money to some charity on November 1st. ---

Where would Obama have gotten that much money? He should completely ignore this, and if asked about it, simply state that he’s not interested in anything Mr. Trump has to offer. ---

You think it’s embarrassing to support giving 5 million to charity? Can you imagine the good that money can do for homeless shelters and food programs? Whats the downside for Obama? We all learn he made a C in Trigonometry? No one cares. There’s nothing there in those records that can hurt him. What does hurt Obama is this reluctance to release information. It raises questions and uncertainty. I don’t think he’s hiding anything bad, but it pisses me off that his foot dragging raises these questions. If you act evasive then people think you are untrustworthy. He could have shut down this birther nonsense 5 years ago. Instead he drags it out all those years before releasing his long form birth certificate. Thats just stupid. I’m actually on Obama’s side on this issue. I’m convinced his records are in good order. He can make this issue go away so easily. Is it intrusive? Yes. Welcome to the Information Age. Modern politicians are expected to release more and more private information. Don’t like it? Stay the heck out of politics. It’s only going to get worse. The public wants information. The more transparent a candidate is the better. ---
