I have some questions. They’ve repealed this law, but that doesn’t yet allow gays to enter into the military, correct? Doesn’t a simple repeal mean that, for the moment at least, the rules go back to before DADT, when the military COULD ask, and then thow gays out?
What else has to happen? Is it a matter of Obama issuing an order as Commander in Chief? Does the military have to rewrite a shitload of regulations? God forbid, does Congress have to now pass something else to actually let gays serve?

As a practical matter, Obama will presumably allow openly gay members, and once thats in place, it will be pretty unlikely that even a very conservative future Prez would try and roll it back.
