Mental illness and mood disorder run in my family. Or, maybe, _gallop_. I have a close female family member who suffers from Bipolar II, Narcissism and Borderline. She’s pretty sick. Although you are not as sick as she is, **RSS** , I feel the need to point out to you that you exhibit a lot of those same symptoms. Don’t think that you will _automatically_ get custody of your little boys. Her child was taken from her at about 3 yrs old … nobody in the family has laid eyes on the child since. IIRC the girl is about 15 now. ☹ You need to take charge of your situation. NOW. Today was too late. The buisness of the affair is a whole other thing from the buisness of the marriage. Do the hard work to parse out what is right or wrong about the marriage. You must turn your back on the Lover in order to see clearly about what work is to be done. To do otherwise is to doom yourself to repeating the same thing. I have a link to a discussion group which helped my relative immensely. Email me and I will share it with you. ---

I also think that anyone even toying with the idea of printing this out and mailing it to my husband (and joyfully doing so) should be smacked with the wet noodle. Let’s not get this fucker personal, OK? I realize that some info on me personally is on the net - you better believe that’s gonna change - and fast. You junior detectives are quite adept in pointing this out, and for that I’m a bit grateful. But the behavior is totally contrary to the spirit of this board. ---

[/QUOTE] Few things annoy me more than idiots who think that having a mental ailment is used as an excuse to avoid responsibility. Until a few people suggested it, **RSSchen** hadn’t suspected she had such a thing. It’s not an excuse, it’s an explanation - or might be - for why she’s pursued a lot of unwise paths in her life. She’s already said she’s going to investigate the possibility. If indeed she’s got a condition of some sort, that could mean that she needs more intensive treatment than she’s already had which could, in turn, help her change her behaviour. Mental ailments by their very nature can affect people’s judgement, emotions, and even power of will. However most are treatable. It’s pretty ignorant to think that people can overcome such conditions by willpower alone. And all the abuse in the world won’t help them do so, either. ---
