I can blame my Mother for many things, but she did right by naming me. I like the name Eric. Simple. It was a name of a Cartright son. No matter how bad the birth was, no mother names her son “Hoss” BTW my name is not Eric. ---

I plan to use it as a first name for either a boy or a girl. I looked it up on the polularity charts, it is around 658 for boys and 705 for girls. I wanted a name that would not be common, but on unheard of either. It was my grampa’s first name. His middle name was Burdette. I thought Loren was much nicer. It is a bit old fashioned, but I like it. My friend suggested that if it is a boy, I should call him Ren for short. I dunno, I think Ren & Stimpy will be still too well known. ---

I have three boys. Their names are: Christopher Allen (LN) Sickeningly normal and he LOVES it! Sean Michael- Anthony (LN) Yes it’s a hyphenated middle name. I was a single mom and couldn’t make up my mind WHAT I wanted to call him so I gave him 2 middle names and he can drop whichever one he wants later. He’s already said, at the age of four, that Anthony HAS to go!! Danyl Edward (LN) is my youngest. I’ll bet **Jomo Mojo** Can tell how to say his first name 😃 I have the same middle name as my mother, grandmother and great grandmother. My niece has the same middle name. 4 generations of Marie. I SWEAR this family is NUTS. ---

If I ever have a daughter, she will be named after a Byzantine empress. Theophano Irene Helena are my top three choices. Boys would most likely be named for saints or biblical characters. Michael (after the archangel, BTW, my confirmation name is Michaela, after same) would top my list. I would not call him, or allow him to be called Mike, because my stepfather was a Michael who was called Mike and the name Mike has very bad associations for me. Somehow I am able to disassociate the name Michael frm him. Josheph and Joshua would also be on my list. So would Jacob. Not Jake, Jacob. I actually have a dislike of diminutives ---
