# Don't see much stunningly shocking performance art anymore -  Were did it go?

Nothing much in the news since the year 2,000 odometer clicked over about public performance art pieces that shock and stun the sensibilities of the workaday prole. These were all over the place causing turmoil and anti-NEA threats in the 80’s and 90’s.

Chocolate covered breasts, bullwips jammed into tattered assholes, little plastic Christs in bottles of pee pee, masturbators in cardboard refrigerator boxes, naked students attending classes. Where did it all go?

A year or two ago there was that picture of Jesus, or maybe it was the Virgin Mary, painted with elephant poop (or some kind of poop) that caused quite a stir.
