1. There’s no real good reason to know this one nowadays that I can think of, but a gross is a dozen dozen or 144.

2. This one may be more useful to know if you need to calculate something out, but a mile is 5280 feet. I don’t know if it helps or confuses the point, but if you’ve run track, you might know that 1/4 mile is 440 yards (the quarter mile race is sometimes called the 440 yard dash). There’s three feet in a yard, so if you do the math, you’ll get 5280 feet.

3. You didn’t answer this one, but this is probably the most useful in day-to-day life if you like to cook. It’s 3 teaspoons in a tablespoon.

2. Salty, Sweet, Sour, Bitter, and… I can’t remember the last one!

3. …Uh, basil? Right? Or bay leaves? Crap!

The ‘thing’ in my username is a Japanese symbol known as a Kanji. I’m a very large anime and manga fan, and I love Japanese culture just as much, if not, even more. (Hint hint, wink wink for you guys asking questions!).

It is pronounced ‘chi’ (like in ‘CHEEse’) and it is the kanji for the word ‘blood’. 😃

It’s only 140 for the user, but 160 for the whole message (routing and stuff), based on the text messaging standard for phones. Good estimate though.

Here’s another question:

Since you didn’t get these, I’m not going to pick your quote out of your long response, but here are the answers:

1. Richard Nixon resigned from office in 1974 rather than face impeachment for his role in covering up the Watergate burglary.

2. Andrew Johnson, the 17th president, and Bill Clinton, the 42nd, were both impeached by the House of Representatives and tried in the Senate. Both presidents were acquitted and served out their terms.

3. [ul]
[li]John Adams and John Quincy Adams - father and son. [/li]
[li]William Henry Harrison and Benjamin Harrison - grandfather and grandson. [/li]
[li]Theodore Roosevelt and Franklin Delano Roosevelt - 5th cousins. [/li]
[li]George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush - father and son. [/li][/ul] I thought the Bushes would have been obvious since W. was President until very recently.

Here’s an easy one. Who is the chief executive of Ford Motor Company? I’ll accept his last name. 😉
