I’s back home again- my tent, however, is still in a field somewhere. It went all wet last night, after some glorious autumn sunshine, and I didn’t fancy putting it away in the rain. I’ll have to sneak back and take it down, in the next day or so. I should be going to the shops and suchlike, but I really just feel like going back to bed. Attempted to read thread, but brain is not on- I’m out of coffee- so I didn’t take much in. Hugs, snerks, and yays are over there, help yourself _points_. ---

Happy Thorsday! It’s a cool 57 degrees outside with a projected high of 74. I am loving this weather. So **Sticky** should we start calling you Led Zeppelin? It sucks to get sick at an inconvenient time, not that any time is a good time. I like sloppy joes, I wish I could find the good recipe I used to have. **Butters** I wasn’t trying to be profound, just frustrated. My brain is swirling. **Capt** If you had told us the lasagna was frozen I wouldn’t have had images of a tilted pan of lasagna leaking into your backpack. However lasagna is one of those foods that are going to taste the same whether it’s in a nice firm square or a jumbled mess on a plate. **Lucky** this is why I am glad I work from home. My biggest obstacle is tripping over the dog or catching my toe in his blanket. The less I drive the more driving irritates me. **Midget** what is Q day? ---

At the beginning of August, I bought an Android tablet with a nice, fat screen because I have trouble seeing stuff on my phone. Well, 7 weeks later, the USB port physically broke so it will neither charge nor tether to my computer. Luckily, I registered it with the manufacturer because I tossed the serial number and other stuff after the first week. I managed to get through the RMA process, got the return paperwork and shipping label, and put it in the orifice’s outgoing UPS pile this morning. So there! What did I get in my e-mail a few minutes ago? “Mr. Vunder, would you please send us your unit’s serial number and memory size to complete the RMA process?” I’m toying with a rather earthy response, something along these lines: “As I’ve mentioned numerous times already, I registered the device when I got it, so you could look it up in your database. However, seeing how I got my RMA number, shipping information, and label already, you can ALWAYS LOOK FOR YOURSELF WHEN THE OG-DAMNED THING ARRIVES AT YOUR DOOR TOMORROW SINCE UPS HAS IT.” Or, I could go with, “\ \, see attached.” and send them their own shipping information. Equal parts :mad: and :rolleyes: 😉 ETA: They just sent me another e-mail demanding information for RMA. I think I’ll go with option 2. ---

My day started out interesting. But not as interesting as it was for my neighbours. I live in a duplex/semi-detached/twin - one of those houses that’s split in half. I woke up this morning because of some loud noises from next door, which is unusual. I noticed there were some people standing out front. When I opened the door to see who they were, I found my house was surrounded by police in body armor with their guns out. I was asked to go back inside. So I only got a partial view through the windows of the police raid going on in the other half of my house. I called the owner because I figured she would be interested in what was happening to her property. She was but the police wouldn’t tell her anything when she came over. So here’s what I know: 1. A whole bunch of police were here. At least seven vehicles worth. Town and county. 2. At least one of my neighbours was taken out in handcuffs. 3. This had something to do with packages coming in the mail. 4. There was a safe that the police broke into but I didn’t see what was inside. 5. The owner is upset because, among other reasons, the neighbours apparently pay her in six-month installments and they were supposed to be paying her one this week. Which is looking unlikely now. 6. It’s been a few hours and there are still enough police cars here I can’t drive my own car out. I wanted to go to the store. I’m trying to decide if it would be okay to ask the police to move their vehicles. ---

home from walking hell pup it was a last minute call and actually I cheated and didn’t walk her. I just put her out because my back hurts like somebody is sticking a knife in it. I stopped at Wendys and got one of their chicken sandwiches on a pretzel bun, it was good but I think that had more to do with the sauce and cheese than the bun. **Nemo** you could always ask. If you are nice and polite they will probably will as long as it’s not dangerous for you to be out there. When I lived in the city I was late for work a few times because the police had blocked my driveway. I always waited for them to finish because I hated my job and going in late was a good thing. Once when I was delivering papers and the police had a block closed off where I needed to deliver a paper, I asked an officer if he could throw the paper in the yard a few houses down for me and he did. **Bobbio** - dealing with idiots is a challenge, it build character, makes you stronger and all that other happy horseshit. ---

The Sick is descending. Several people in a different part of the office have sounded horrible for a week. I had been attributing the pain in the gums on the upper left side of my mouth to my recent trip to the dentist, but I have to face the fact that it is almost certainly my sinuses preparing for infection. Sigh. Canceled my PT today so I can go home and take all the NyQuil. ETA: **Nemo** , you HAVE to tell us what happened. We want storytime. ---
