My boss didn’t like me saying “thingie” so I switched to [thingummy](http://dictionary.reference.com/search?r=2&q=thingummy). He didn’t appreciate that one too much either but it stuck. ---

I always enjoyed the properties ascribed to the things. Anything from a big vegan donut to a self-propelled bazooka. Didn’t matter much since it was how many you could make cheaply that was the issue. ---
