Door to door service via schoolbus?

When I was a kid we lived in the country, the kind of place where everybody knows who you all are, so our school bus would frequently stop off outside our house to pick us up, and sometimes detour to drop people off, even though there were designated stops.

That was up until the school swapped over to an independent bus company to do the job and that driver didn’t care about any of us and followed his own strict rules. Though his buses were nicer.

Here their policy is that each kid has to declare one bus route and stick to it, which I feel is grossly unfair to divorced or separated parents.

It’s part of the same mindset that leads to cops being called on parents that let their age appropriate offspring walk down to the corner park with out an adult.
