# Dope Boards is Slow as Snails

This bb software (or the server) is so slow, I seriously doubt I will regularly participate in these forums (fora?) You all must be incredibly patient. I for one don’t like sitting around for half an hour every time I click on a link or a button. Is this typical, or is the board having a bad hair day?:mad:

I’m happy that the coin came up heads. How many coins have tails on the other side? The U.S. quarter (eagle) and the Canadian nickel (beaver), quarter (elk?) and dollar (loon). Which were you using?
And, more to the point, is this forum always so excruciatingly slow? Is this something everyone experiences all the time, or is it just (a) me (b) right now?

It’s always slow around this time of day, ie, all day. Try posting around midnight USA time; it’s much better. There is also a question of luck, but since you managed to a new thread _and_ a reply within an hour of each other, I’d say you’re one of the lucky ones.

Yes, **skutir** , these boards are excruciatingly slow almost all day… Yet, some days are better than other days, some worse… So it’s not (a) only you (b) only right now.
Point is, those who’ve stayed do so not because they want to… but because they’re addicted. There have been times when the board was so slow that it was down for a week… but, we came back everyday and reloaded the “The board is not online yet… It should be up by Friday” some 60 times an hour… even on Monday…
Just giving some perspective, that’s all… [sub] and taking my fix [/sub]

You got that right! At least I’m not the only one with the problem! Sometimes I just give up trying to connect. Sometimes it’s faster than other times.

The boards are almost always lightning fast around 7 AM EST.
Though they get slow in the afternoon.

**The best** time to use this board is probably 4:15 AM Central (5:15 AM Eastern). The nightly down time has just finished, and there’s practically nobody here.

I find it pretty quick right now. Guess I’ll make it part of my morning ritual.
For the sysop: don’t take it personally, man. I have to take flack for a course management system out of my control at my job, and I get sick of people whining about how slow it is.
