It’s been awhile since I posted; the filters that prevented me seem to be lifted today. That, and there was an open computer on someone else’s desk, so I’m stealing it for five minutes. Hey, me and another Doper are gonna throw a DopeFest this weekend. I understand that by the by-laws and Rules™, it’s gotta be two or more to qualify for a “Git-together”, but if food is involved between the two, then it gets bumped up to “Fest.” Anyone in the southwestern part of Afghanistan is welcome to attend. Don’t worry about a place to stay–you can crash with us. We’re gonna be a bit limited on libations, though. All you gotta do is get yourself here. The photo shoot will begin promptly at noon (inshallah). So, I’m proud to announce the First Periodic Afghanistani DopeFest! Tripler Camels not included. ---

Success!! **BomTek** and I linked up just after noon, and spent a good half hour in the sun yakkin’ about all things Cecil. We talked about how he got started reading the Dope, how I got hooked by watching the TV show. Talked about a few Dopers I’d met in the past, a few of the forums he likes, and how he spends most of his online time here at the Dope. We got a picture (good one too!) I just can’t access my PhotoBucket. Can someone tap **Arnold** on the shoulder and have him ping me with a good email address? **BomTek** wants to use it as his official Dope portrait too. I think **CajunMan** ’s [disclaimer](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=457122) needs to be updated to include a warning to the Taliban–“_Crash the party at your own personal risk to life and liberty._” The party was so friggin’ awesome, the fence was there to keep it contained. Tripler Co-host of the first ever DopeFest in Afghanistan. ---
